Like its name, they are made to survive underwater. Dive watches often feature screw down crown, in which the crown requires screwing (with fingers) to lock/unlock, ensuring better protection against water. Dive watches also have thicker rubber gasket inside than the other types of watches to improve water resistance. Some dive watches feature a rotating bezel, which can be used as a timer. Dive watch is often the favorite type of watch among enthusiasts due to its water resistance (which ensures longevity of life from dust and pressure) and the rotating bezel comes in many varieties of design.
